Summer Share, Week #4

Hello Everyone!

Summer is in full swing here at White Barn Farm. I'm sure you've noticed that the Farmstand looks fuller each week. We have a lot to offer!

Here's our share for Summer, Week #4:

  • 1 Head of Cabbage: Choice of Napa, Gnome, or Green
  • 1 Slicing Cucumber
  • 1 Head of Lettuce
  • 1 Bunch of Fresh Onions
  • Choose 3 different of the following: Carrots, Beets, Radishes, Scallions, Salad Turnips, Kohlrabi, Swiss Chard or Kale.

It's been so hot, that the first thing that comes to mind is Cole Slaw! I love the stuff! Super simple: Shred your Cabbage of choice, a couple of Carrots, and an Onion for a super basic Slaw, add a Beet for color or Kolhrabi for flavor and you will be good to go. Then cover it with your favorite salad dressing. Genius Kitchen has a good recipe here: Easy Cole Slaw. Or add our Virginia and Spanish Peanut Co natural peanut butter and make Once Upon a Chef's Asian slaw recipe: Asian Slaw with Peanut Dressing. Round off your meal with something easy to grill. We have sausages from Pat's Pastured Meats in our freezers and mushrooms from RI Mushroom Co out on the stand. 

We are closed on Wednesday this week for the 4th of July holiday. So Wednesday Shares please feel free to pick up either Tuesday or Thursday. Both days we are open from 10 - 6. And Jordan Brothers will be at the farmstand on Tuesday and Friday from 2 - 6.
